The Opportunity

The Solution
The Trail Art Project will turn this incorporating more art into our city.
The images shown only concept examples and may not be actual art or placement at the Sculpture Garden site.
POSSIBLE SCULPTURES MAY BE INSTALLED
Outdoor art will turn this portion of the Trail into something beautiful, and an asset to the entire community. It will make the trail more inviting, so visitors are more likely to spend time at local businesses nearby. The impact of outdoor art along the Greenway will be an upgrade and substantial.

David and Marcella Hirschy
Sadly we lost David recently; and his wife, Marcella, an Arizona native, wants to donate to the City several of his sculptures. She and we intend to launch this portion of the Project in David’s memory as a celebration of his art. David was a long-time artist in more than one medium; Marcella is herself an accomplished artist. They spent their time together as silversmiths creating remarkable pieces of art, painting on fabrics as well as on canvases, and designing large scale sculptures most recently at their 6th Street studio, where the above sculptures currently reside.
We hope to locate the sculptures north of Willis or at the Peavine Trail.

JONATHAN DECKER
Also an accomplished artist and sculptor in his own right, Jonathan helped bring to life David’s designs, and he has created large abstract metal sculptures of his own.
Proposed Location

Gene Galazan
Gene Galazan - A well-known artist in Wisconsin, Gene relocated to Arizona and continued to create three-dimensional art hammering, welding putting scrap metal together. Some of his work can be seen at the Phippen Museum – metal horses grazing peacefully in the field. Gene creates his horses and abstract sculptures at home, in his studio there. More of his art deserves to be on display, and we hope to locate the Horse pictures with two colts at the Peavine Trailhead.
